In 2010, seasoned denim veterans Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding launched MOTHER denim hoping to create a line of great-fitting jeans that everyone would want to wear. The cheeky new label quickly achieved cult-favorite status for disrupting the space of rigid skinnies with a collection of super-soft, vintage-inspired pairs. A full lifestyle collection quickly followed, featuring graphic tees, nostalgic outerwear, playful knits & more chic sportswear. MOTHER continues to take over closets of style setters everywhere, while remaining committed to local production—95% of the label’s manufacturing takes place in L.A., with 99% of their jeans created right outside of their design studio.
